#1: 138 meters from confluence - Emap needs a faster update rate!

(visited by Shawn Fleming)

02-May-2003 -- While on a recent flight to test new ring laser gyro inertial navigation units, I spent 2.5 hours in the vicinity of the equator and international date line to ensure that our system would function properly as we made multiple N-S, S-N, E-W, and W-E hemisphere crossings.

I figured this confluence would be a unique one to capture since it's pretty remote and very difficult to get close to. I brought my Garmin E-map along and managed to take a few pictures as I crossed the confluence. Considering that I was traveling at 238 m/s and the E-map updates at 1HZ, I was lucky to get a shot within 138 meters of the confluence.

It was a beautiful day above the ocean with great cloud patterns.
