(visited by David Mower and Diane Mower)

09-Jul-2003 -- Diane and I had a pleasant visit to the Park County Courthouse in Cody, Wyoming. We met some nice folks in the Road and Bridge Office who gave us helpful information. We then headed south to the town of Meeteetse and from there West on Highway 290 until we reached county road 4DT, also called the Wood River Road.

This road leads southwest and upstream along the Wood River. We passed fences and farms along the way. At address 644 Wood River Road we found a locked gate. We were a little less than 3 km from the confluence, which was obviously on the other side of the gate. We took photos and left.

At the second house back down the road there were cars in the driveway. I decided to stop. I ended up having a nice visit with the landowner and his brother. It was clear that the confluence point was on their land. Unfortunately no permission to enter was forthcoming.

A little further down the road we took county road 4CP which led us back up into the hills above and to the east of the confluence. The view was beautiful and striking, but there was still no access without trespassing. I took a photo from this point plus a couple of others in the small town of Meeteetse.

It was a great day! Thanks for getting us out.
