05-Dec-2003 --
We found out about the confluence project very recently. We also learned that all visits in our country have been done by foreigners, but there are still few confluence points that haven't been visited at all. So we decided not to loose time.
The confluence 44N 20E is situated in western Serbia, some 140 km from Belgrade to the south, in the picturesque village Subjel, near small town of Kosjeric (www.kosjeric.org.yu).
I took us some 2 hours drive, and some 30 minutes walk to get there. We managed to get within 1.5 km by car, then we had to walk and wander around for a while to obtain the exact position.
We hadn't had a very good whether forecast: the day had been expected to be a foggy one and in the beginning it certainly was. It was very difficult to drive as the view was sometimes limited to les than 50m. Of course, we feared that our pictures were not going to show very much, but just before we reached our target, the sky cleared and we could enjoy the view of typical mountainous Serbia in a beautiful sunny day.
Although this confluence was an easy one, we are determined to try to do some more in the near future.
