28-Dec-2003 -- The Holzmann extended family was gathered in La Paloma, Uruguay to celebrate the holidays together this year. A few months before, we had stumbled across this website, found that there was a point near La Paloma, and decided that when we were all in Uruguay we would visit it.
So, on the cloudy day of December 28th, the eight of us piled into our rental cars and headed off in search of the point. We were expecting a very long hike through the fields, but luckily there was an unmarked dirt road that put us within 3 km of our destination. We hiked out to the point through the Uruguayan "pampas" (grasslands/fields), encountering along the way a number of cows, sheep, horses and a couple armadillos.
We enjoyed our family adventure and thank everyone for organizing and contributing to the confluence project.
