#1: General view from West.

(visited by Joao Carlos Teixeira and Eurídice Teixeira)

30-Jan-2004 -- We initiate our vacations taking the route to Encantado-RS, where we’d go to visit a friend that until then we only knew by the InterNet. In the way it was a very easy confluence to visit. The 29s52w in Anta Gorda-RS (Fat Tapir). This confluence is close to Mr. Décio Canello’s house, which is a very cordial man and received us very well.

Close to Anta Gorda we’ve found the grotto of Itapuca that is considered the biggest of Latin America, with 30 meters of width with irregular heights, reaching up to 3,4 m.

Agriculture is 81,5% of the economy of Anta Gorda that produces 37 thousand tons/year of maize. The city is the greater producer of yerba maté seedlings of Rio Grande do Sul state, with an annual production of 5 million.

In Encantado we’ve found our friend Luiz Claudio Grando, his wife Bernadete and his daughter Luiza. Next day Grando took us to Dois Lajeados-RS to see the highest viaduct of the Americas and the second of the world. It takes a 4x4 vehicle to arrive the top.
