29-May-2000 -- After spending the Memorial Day at Wrightsville Beach for a music festival, we headed back along I-40, tired, sunburned, and hungover; but with confluences on our minds. I'd used the government's Tiger mapping services to locate a confluence just a little north of the interstate, in the middle of (what looked to be on the computer) a country club neighborhood. We were a little nervous; since both of us lacked anything remotely close to a Stepford Upbringing. We decided to simply rely on the fact that, even after our weekend, we didn't smell too bad.

A first glance at the wethered brick entry to the neighborhood put all our fears to rest. This was rural NC after all. A quick drive and a single turn and we were within 50 meters of the confluence. Seeing no signs, and no people, we slipped into the field and got the money shot. Another easy mark. One of these days it's gonna catch up to us.
