15-Feb-2004 -- RELATO CONFLUENCIA CANQUEL

We got up early and where already driving at 6:00 with my friend Javier from Puerto Madryn, so that we could get to Garayalde with German and Fabian, that where driving from Comodoro Rivadavia, finally they diced to come only with one vehicule becuase one of them was not really in good shape.

We met on the established point, we checked the maps and the plan we had before, and after making the last gas reload we started the trip, maybe we expected to drive 400km of dirt and paths roads,to get our 2 confluences planed.

From there we made a few km, up to where we reached a fossil forest, Very interesting to find these “wood” that was such some time ago, and now they are complete fossil and hard rock. Hope these place keeps like these, and nobody takes outs pieces of these prehistorics rock woods .

Finally we reached the place at it was almost at 1 km from the road, luckylly this confluence is locate in a place call “Pampa Pelada” that means ? skinned field ? so we could reach them with both our 4x4s.

We took the fotographs and celebrated having lunch , of these “easy “ confluence. Preparing ourselves for the next one.

Trying to reach the next one we almost drove over the S45 parallel, finding the “Guillermina” farm the man there told us that was imposible going that way, so we have to go south reaching the Rio Chico water source, that really didn’t have any water, in that time of the year.
