07-May-2004 -- Закончилось наше пребывание на Иссык-Куле и мы возвращались из Киргизии в Казахстан. Природа провожала нас приличным дождем, совершенно не располагающим к каким-либо вылазкам. В салоне автомобиля было тепло и уютно, привычно мурлыкала музыка и тихо шелестели за окнами, разрезаемые шинами, лужи воды… Мы приближались к границе.

Точка открылась внезапно, когда изменив (по совету знатоков) маршрут мы решили пересекать границу более близким таможенным коридором. Забегая вперед скажу, что сделали мы это зря, т.к. в тех краях проще выезжать там же, где и въезжал (по крайней мере дешевле). Несмотря на непогоду, мы не устояли и, оставив наших товарищей проходить контроль, решили сделать 10-ти километровый бросок вдоль границы – к точке. Дорога шла вдоль границы, а вдоль дороги петляла река, то приближаясь, то удаляясь столь незначительно, что не оставалось никаких сомнений в том, что именно она и не даст нам приблизится к точке более значительно (совершать более глубокий рейд вглубь приграничной территории путем экстремального брода мы не решились). Впоследствии выяснилось, что точка находится уже на территории Казахстана, и можно было бы попытаться посетить ее с той стороны границы, но тогда у нас не было с собой более подробной карты, да и время поджимало. Одним словом даю наводку охотникам – с Казахстанской стороны вдоль границы тоже идет дорога… Удачи вам, а нас - ждали новые точки!

English Narrative

07-May-2004 -- We finished our stay in Issyk-Kul and returned from Kyrgyzstan to Kazakhstan. Nature saw us off with a decent rain, absolutely discouraging any outings. In the interior of the automobile it was warm and cozy, the customary music hummed and pools of water cut by our tires quietly rustled behind the windows. We came nearer to the border.

The point opened suddenly, when having changed (by the advice of experts) our route we have decided to cross the border closer to the customs corridor. Jumping forward I should mention, that we did this in vain since in those borders it is easier to leave in the same place where you drove in (at least it is cheaper). Despite the bad weather, we did not resist and, having left our comrades to pass inspection, have decided to make a 10-kilometer sprint along the border - to a point. The road went along the border, and along the road wandered a river, approaching, moving away so very slightly, that there did not remain any doubts that it will not even let us approach the point more closely (we couldn't bring ourselves to make a more thorough raid this deep into frontier territory by an extreme fording of the river). Subsequently it was found out, that the point is already in the territory of Kazakhstan, and it would be possible to try to visit her from that side of the border but then we did not have with us a more detailed map, and we ran out of time. One comment to help hunters - from the Kazakhstan side along the border there is also a road . Success to you, and as for us - new points awaited!
