22-Jun-2004 -- The place is on the eastern flank of Fani river valley opposite to national road that runs on the western flank. Although our GPS was telling us that we were not further than a couple of hundred meters from the point getting there turned out not to be so easy due to the very steep side of the valley. To our luck we met Angjelin a local kid from the nearby village of Shkoze that guided us through the maze of small trails that only locals know.
First we had to “abandon” our spot and walk for about 400 meters north in order to reach the point where we could cross the river through a makeshift bridge that the locals had put in place only recently, then travel along the valley.
The site is about 300 meter close to the village of Shkoze (Albanian name for Hornbeam) in the Puka region in an area of mixed forest Oak (Quercus sp.), Hornbeam (Carpinus betula) Chestnuts and Ash tree (Fraxinus sp).
