27-May-2016 -- Driving south from Seattle towards Bend, Oregon, I wanted to visit this relatively easy-looking point before forecast light rain (unfortunately, not uncommon for the Seattle area) arrived.
After driving through two small rustic towns (Wilkeson and Carbonado) on the flanks of Mount Rainier, I turned onto the Carbon River Road, which passes just 400 feet south of the point. From there, it was an easy hike through the forest to reach the point.
Forested Degree Confluence points are often boring. This point, however, is quite beautiful, due to the moss-covered trees, and abundant ferns.
