15-May-2016 -- 14 and 15 May, we decided to go to the area between the cities of Juiz de Fora, Uba, Leopoldina, and rio Paraíba do Sul (State of Minas Gerais). The main objective was to visit various railway stations (now disabled, in some cases without roads for decades) that were part of the historic Estrada de Ferro Leopoldina. Pass by more and more beautiful landscapes and see conquer two new confluences: 22S 43W and 21S 43W.

After a good night rest at hotel de Juiz de Fora Sunday, May 15, at 08:00 we were hitting the route again. The previous day we had managed to conquer the 22S 43W confluence. The visit planned for this day was significantly easier to achieve.

Touring many villages inner Minas Gerais (such as Coronel Pacheco, Guarani, Tocatins, just to mention a few) we reached approximately 12:30 to Divinesia, the farthest point that we would reach on this trip, and in the area of the confluence. As discussed visitors earlier, is very easy get to the limit of 100 meters but very difficult put in zero the GPS. Following the road on the left of the Church, and few hundred meters once again ground, we were 90 meters from the exact spot. At the side of the road there is a wooded area and a mirror of water. The confluence is either on the water or in a wooded sector on the other side. I could register the point 80 meters.

Then we started a slow return, stopping a couple of hours at Uba, which is a larger city in comparison with which we were visiting, and following the route by other towns such as Rio Pomba, Tabuleiro or Merces.

In Merces, I made the mistake of not fueling, and in the three following villages (Paiva, Aracitaba and Oliveira Fortes) did not find an open fuel post. Already with the last breath of fuel arrived at Santos Dumont, on the highway that links Rio de Janeiro with Belo Horizonte. We filled the tank, take a rich coffee with cheese bread and continue journey to our home in Resende (Rio de Janeiro) where we arrived around 23:00 and after crossing the Serra da Mantiqueira and Bom Jardim de Minas (MG) Quatis (RJ). This stretch is made up of 60 kilometers of mounting routes (in parts of land, generally with many curves and outstanding strong) in the course of which not more than 5 vehicles crossed.
