(visited by Ross Finlayson)

13-Jan-2018 -- I’m spending a few days of summer vacation in the Adelaide area - and will (of course) try to visit several Degree Confluence Points during my visit. This first point was one that I had first visited almost 18 years ago - back in April, 2000. I was curious to visit again (with a better GPS receiver and camera) to see how it had changed.

One thing that had changed (for the better) in the intervening 18 years is that there is now no confusion about the name of the gravel road that passes just 140 m from the point. It is now signposted “Jones Road”. Another change is to the farmland at the point. Back in 2000, it appeared that a crop had been growing there. Now, cattle are grazing in the area. There is now also an electric fence - along with the usual barbed-wire fence - to negotiate.

Weather conditions were rather strange during my visit - overcast and blustery. Because of this, lighting was bad, and my photos weren’t particularly good (though still better than with my point-and-shoot film camera back in 2000).
