26-Jun-2008 -- This is the 31st of a series of 83 confluence visits during our voyage from Nigeria to Europe and back to Nigeria around the entire African continent. It all started on 28 January at 11N 5E.

Story continues from 18N 16W.

We had been travelling already for more than a week in Morocco. We passed several Confluences but were unable to visit them because we did not have a suitable map with us and could not find one either.

At Marrakech at the camping place we met Enzio and Barbara, two Italians living in Austria. We spent a nice evening together; eating out at the place "Jamaâ El Fna". The next morning they continued their journey and left us kindly their map. At this camping place we also meet up again with a very nice Canadian couple. Ruby and Mike are on the last leg of their 10-month round-Africa trip on BMW motorbikes.

The following day we packed up and continued our trip, but not before we made a detour and visited the confluence 32N 8W. We drove from Marrakech the old road to Casablanca; this road passes the confluence by 5 kilometres. We took the turnoff towards the village Bou Naga and continued on this road towards the Confluence. About one kilometre from the Confluence there are some farm roads, which lead as close as 20 meters to the Confluence.

After completing all the necessary documentation, we returned to Marrakech and continued our journey through the mountains of the High Atlas.

Continued at 31N 7W.
