#1: A view of the confluence point

(visited by Ross Finlayson)

20-Nov-2006 -- I first tried to find the road that leads towards the confluence point from the Tonopah Airport, but - like Jack Frickey - couldn't find it. (Perhaps this road is accessible only from inside the airport fence??) So instead, I started from the east, following the same route that Shawn Fleming took: Tonopah Test Range Road, to the (abandoned) Pine Creek Well, to a dirt road heading west-northwest, towards the confluence point. This dirt road took me just over a mile from the confluence point, leading to a 2.5 mile round trip hike across flat, scrubby desert.
