#1: The confluence point lies within a former dry lake bed

(visited by Ross Finlayson)

28-Apr-2009 -- This confluence point, although located in a remote part of Nevada, is easy to visit, because an easily drivable gravel road (Carico Valley Road) takes you just 1.1 miles northwest of the point. From Nevada Highway 305, between Battle Mountain and Austin, turn onto Carico Valley Road at [39.9192,-117.1337].

The (2.2-mile round-trip) hike is easy, across flat, thinly-vegetated land that appears to be a former lake bed. Hiking through the sagebrush, I spotted a hare, and a white-tailed deer.
