#1: the view northwards

(visited by Christopher Anton)

14-Oct-2006 -- Well it took me about 90 mins to get to Luxembourg from 50N,5E and it was a bit tricky to find. The roads around about are very narrow and full of hairpins and I was still getting used to driving on the funny side of the road.

I knew from the many previous visits that it was on a unpaved road and having seen one that looked as it was heading in the right direction, turned up it. It lead in a few minutes right to the spot. This shows the monument and the view north. The view east, unfortunately has the car in it but there was nowhere to park it out of sight. South and West complete the set, the GPS balancing on top of the pole - they seem to have got it pretty well spot on to me.

It was interesting to see how much has been developed since the last visit. The plinth for the sundial was obviously there earlier this year, but without the now present sundial. Also the board seems to have had a major makeover. Who knows what will appear next?

And so ever eastwards to 50N,7E..
