4th confluence out of a trip of 4

Continued from 49°N 16°E

Our week tour around South Moravia came to the end. On Sunday morning we bid farewell to Vranov nad Dyjí and hit the road heading north. On our way home we made a short stop in Telč which is famous for its long market square and well-preserved Renaissance houses. Since 1992 the town has been on the UNESCO World Heritage Site list. From Telč we continued our journey via Jihlava and Havlíčkův Brod towards Chrudim and Pardubice. We were traveling on ordinary roads crossing many villages, so our travel speed was relatively low (speed limits in built-up areas are to be strictly observed in the Czech Republic).

In Chrudim we turned to the east, drove for about 15 km until we left the main road and via Městec we came to Uhersko. There we crossed a major railway track Česká Třebová – Kolín (Praha), passed through the village and headed west. Some 1.5 km behind the village limits my GPS showed that the confluence was ca. 100 m away. We parked the car at the shoulder, at the edge of a huge sunflower field. I changed my shoes to trekking boots and entered a freshly ploughed field to find the “zero” point. After a couple of minutes, at 1 PM sharp all zeroes after decimal point appeared on the GPS display. It was a very nice, sunny and warm day (24 C). The surroundings was very quiet, only from time to time a single car passed by on the road. I took the usual pictures and returned to the car. Via Jaroměř and Trutnov we reached the border crossing in Lubawka and then headed towards Poznań.

Wykonałem tradycyjne zdjęcia i wróciłem do samochodu.
