(visited by David Mower)

21-Apr-2007 -- I successfully visited this confluence at about 1830 hours local time. In making plans for the visit I followed Sam Galluci’s and Shawn Flemings’s advice and planned an approach from the south. Diane was with me in the truck and we drove north until we were on the 39th parallel. We parked at 1.44 km west of the point. Diane opted to stay in the truck.

I walked straight east toward the point. There were antelope in the area. They are much more wary than mule deer and kept very far away from me as I approached. The walking was not difficult; it was across low-growing sage brush. I picked a reference point on the mountains to the east and walked straight towards it, looking at the GPS every few hundred meters.

The point was about 30 meters west of a fenced and cultivated field. There was at least one piece of farming equipment that I could see far on the other side of the field. There were no people nor any other improvements in view; just sagebrush for miles and miles. I found no evidence of prior visitors.

The total round-trip walk was about 1 hour. Thanks for getting me out!
