16-mar-2008 -- 41° Kuzey 27° Doğu confluence gezimiz, Honda Transalp motosikletimizle İstanbul'dan başladı. İlk önce Tekirdağ üzerinden Malkara'ya geldik, oradan da Hayrabolu yoluna girdik. Bu yol üzerinde, 41. enlemi yakaladığımızda, GPS'e göre 27. boylamın doğumuzda kaldığını görüp, hemen ordan biryerden, doğumuzda kalan tarlalara doğru giden bir toprak yola girdik. Bu yol birazdan tarlalar arasına daldı, biz de onu takip ettik. Bir o yana gittik, bir bu yana gittik. Yeni ekinlerin arasındaki dar yollardan ve hatta dar patikalardan geçerek ilerledik. En sonunda, bizi hedefe doğru götürebilecek olan bir tarla yolu bulduk.

Bu sefer de önümüze su ve çamur engeli çıktı. "Buraya kadar gelmişiz, bu işi bitirmeliyiz" düşüncesiyle; GPS'e baktık, çok fazla mesafenin kalmadığına karar verip, motosikleti orada bırakıp yürümeye başladık.

Bir süre yürüdükten sonra, bir koyun sürüsünün yakınlarından geçerken, iki tane kocaman çoban köpeği koştu geldi karşımıza dikildi. Neredeyse, "bu iş buraya kadarmış" deyip, geri dönmek zorunda kalıyorduk. "İşte burdan geri döndük" diyebilmek için, bir-iki fotoğraf çekerken baktık ki, köpekler bizimle artık ilgilenmez oldular ve kenara çekildiler. Biz de "haydi devam" diyip, devam ettik. Hedefe çok yaklaştığımız bir sırada, sürülmüş tarlalar arasından bir tilki, birden önümüzden fırladı, koşarak tarlalar arasında tekrar kayboldu.

Bundan kısa bir süre sonra da 41-27'ye ulaştık. Motosikleti bıraktığımız noktanın, yaklaşık 2.5 km. kadar kuzeyinde kalan bu noktada, Zeynep'le birbirimizi tebrik edip, fotoğraflar çekip, sonra tekrar motosikletin yanına geri döndük. Bu ilk confluence gezimizi başarıyla sonuçlandırmaktan dolayı mutluyuz.

16-Mar-2008 -- Our confluence trip to 41N 27E began from Istanbul with our Honda Transalp motorbike. First, we came to Malkara through Tekirdağ. Then we followed the road which goes to Hayrabolu. When we catched the 41°N, we saw that 27°E was on the east side of us. Just nearby, we found a dirt road going towards fields which were to the east, and we followed that road by motorbike. Shortly after, this road cut into the fields, so did we. We tried several roads and paths. Finally, we found a dirt road which probably would go towards the confluence point.

This time, we came across water and mud handicaps. We thought that "we came to here, we have to achieve". When we looked at the GPS, we realized that there was not too much distance to the confluence point, and we left the motorbike over there and started to walk.

While we were passing nearby a sheep fold, two huge sheep dogs ran toward us. They came to the dirt road that we wanted to go, and started to wait for us. We thought that "this is the end". And we started to take photos of that place which would be "the last point that we reached before we returned back". Meanwhile, the dogs decided not to deal with us, and went away. So, we said "LET'S GO". While we were walking toward and very close to the CP, suddenly a fox ran in front of us and disappeared again in the fields.

Soon, we arrived at the CP of 41N 27E. This point was 2.5 km away toward north from our motorbike. Zeynep and I congratulated each other, took photos, and went back to the motorbike again. We were happy to finish the first CP trip with a success.
