23-Apr-2005 -- Having just completed 42N 27E and having had a hair cut in a small village, I headed south towards Gallipoli (Gelibolu) and planned to visit 41N 27E. This was a relatively easy CP to find and get to. I drove south towards Hayrabolu on the 555, and then on a smaller road towards Kozyörük. Kept driving south through Kozyörük and at about 3 km a newish road is on the left, with the CP east of this road. This area is farming area, and all along the road are small tractor tracks leading towards the CP. I tried one of these tracks, and got close to the point about 2 km from it, before my hire car could not go any further as it was bottoming out, and I tried another road a bit further on which got me closer, 900 m away. Look out for an old weighing building on the left.
As I was getting out of my car and getting my gear, a farmer went by in a tractor and was heading in the direction of the CP. I can not speak Turkish and he could not speak English, but he could see the arrow on the GPS and I hopped on the tractor and off we went in the direction of the CP. About 400 m from the CP he dropped me off as he was going to another field and I walk across freshly ploughed fields to the CP. If you had a car with higher clearance you could drive to about 20 m of this CP.
At the time of my visit there was a lot of activity going on in the fields with tractors in every field, but no one minded that I was there, like all the local people I met on this trip they were very friendly and helpful. The CP is very close to a dam, and I have lost the name if it, but you can see it from the CP.
When I get to a CP I normally have to do the CP dance for 5 minutes, but at this CP all the zeros just came up straight away, it was so easy and quick. It was 15:30 when I took my photos and started to head back to the car to find my accommodation for the night, stayed in Şarköy.
