30-Jul-2013 -- Once again mobile phone reception is excellent at the confluence - so for the first time I attempt to register my visit 'live' - it works but only the confluence photo - I am roaming after all.
As stated by previous visitors - you can drive to within a few hundred metres of this point and on well made gravel roads. The trees around have certainly grown a lot since the first (2001) visit -not a problem but there has recently been some thinning of naturally seeded birch - the remains of which make the going quite tough.
There is a geocache at this site but the real plus is the cloudberry (hjortron) bog- my favourite Scandinavian berry* - at first nothing and then gradually a wonderfully complex fermented-sweet-brown-fruit taste - yum - this was a long confluence visit for me - and with a small jar of hjortron jam costing about 80 SKr (12,40 US-$/9,30 €) - I spent most of that time feasting.
*At 60N 16E it was raspberry (hallon), bilberry (Blåbär) and cowberry (lingon), at 60N 15E - alpine strawberry (smultron). Nothing edible at all at 60N 13E.
