28-Jul-2010 – Once more we started from the European Go Congress, which took place in Tampere this year, to do a combined Geocaching and Confluence day trip. We took the roads 9, 338 and 66 direction North. Once we reached the 62nd parallel, we turned West taking roads Parosperäntie and Piilontie. We parked the car near a farm and walked through the Finnish landscape, at first on small forest roads, finally across the forest. As the small trees were not standing too close to each other, it wasn't too difficult, despite the very rough ground, to reach the confluence point. In the three years that passed since last visit #3 the coniferes have grown further, it's no longer possible to see the older wood in the distance. The flagstaff from visit #1 is still there. When we later returned to the parked car, the inside thermometer showed a temperature of 41° Celsius (Fahrenheit 105), which is proof how unusual hot this Finish summer was.
