28-Mar-2015 -- Prior to a trip to visit friends near Zurich, I looked up the map of Switzerland to find out if there is a confluence nearby. I convinced my friends to come with me although they didn't really understand my fascination of confluence collection at first.
We drove from Brugg towards Luzern and left the highway about 15 km away from the confluence and followed narrow roads through the mountains. The car navigation system directed us to a location only 250 m away from the confluence. Then we followed a path downhill through the forest towards the gorge of the small river Goldbach. The slope was quite steep and getting close to the confluence was difficult. The GPS signal was really weak and after a while climbing around, we capitulated. It was just too dangerous to get all the zeros.
We took the photos and climbed back up the slope. When we reached the cars again, we drove down to the beautiful city of Luzern and had a nice barbecue in the evening.
My friends agreed that they would never have driven this lovely narrow mountain road if there wouldn't be the confluence nearby. So maybe I can convince them to go with me to 47N 7E or 47N 9E next time...
