22-May-2022 -- I had visited this Degree Confluence Point twice before, in January 2000 and April 2010. Today, while driving westwards across the Mojave Desert from Las Vegas, I decided it was time to revisit it. As before, I took (paved) Irwin Road to (gravel) Fossil Bed Road to the (sand) power-line access road, then drove along this road (next to the high voltage power pylons), parking at its closest point, 0.16 miles North of the point.
The point looked much the same as before, except that the desert vegetation appeared even drier than usual. (California is currently in extreme drought.) Also, there is now a complex of greenhouses visible to the South, near the junction of Irwin Road and Fossil Bed Road. Unfortunately, because this point lies within military controlled airspace, I couldn’t use my drone to get an aerial view. So instead, I recorded a video from ground level.
