07-Aug-2022 -- From [42,-80], I continued driving south on Interstate 79, exiting near the delightfully-named town of Slippery Rock. My goal for visiting this point was to avoid the private property to the East and South, and instead hike through the forest from the Northeast, using the same path that Dale Siegenthaler used in October 2011.
I found this path (an old road cut) at [41.00268,-79.99607], on Muddy Creek Drive, 0.27 miles Northeast of the point. This old road cut was easy to hike, although quite wet from recent rain. it led me very close to the point, which lay on a small (but steep) slope, next to a swampy area. Unlike Dale Siegenthaler - 11 years ago - I didn’t see any “No Trespassing” signs.
During my hike, I encountered lots of mosquitoes. Also, there were no openings in the overhead tree canopy that would allow me to fly my drone. And I also heard numerous gunshots coming from a nearby property. So I quickly took my photos and left.
