18-Sep-2023 -- While driving from Carcassonne, France to the small alpine nation of Andorra, I made a detour to visit this Degree Confluence Point, located in an apple orchard.
A paved road passes just 100m North of the point. I parked there, and walked about 30m South, to a bank that overlooks the orchard (where the trees were covered with nets). I stopped there, 66m (+/- GPS error of 2m) North of the point, and did not proceed any further. Unfortunately I hadn’t read the reports from previous visitors, because at the time I thought that this was a vineyard, where the nets would have been too low to comfortably walk under. If I had realized that I was looking instead at covered apple trees, I might have proceeded further to try to get ‘all zeros’. (However, I did later fly my drone directly over the point, to get an aerial view.)
Here is a remote-controlled aerial video of this confluence point.
