17-Oct-2023 -- As I near the end of my vacation in France, I’m spending a few days in Bordeaux. Today I rented a car to visit three of the four Degree Confluence Points that surround Bordeaux. (The fourth point, [45,0], I had already visited during an earlier visit to France in 2018.)
As I drove towards this point, I could tell that this is a sparsely-populated part of France, filled with little but forests and farms. Fortunately, though, this point was quite easy to reach, as it’s in a field, just 180m West of a paved rural road. The field had been used to grow corn, and had been recently harvested. At the time of the previous visit (April 27th, 2023, by Lord Helmchen), the field had been freshly ploughed. So, in the six months since then, a crop of corn had been planted, grown to maturity, and harvested.
Here is a remote-controlled aerial video of this confluence point.
