During a two week road-trip through Iceland together with a friend of mine, I took the chance to visit the some confluence points.
We stayed the night near the Landmannalaugar Campsite because of safety concerns to pass across a river. After having a bath at the hot springs underneath the mountain "Brennisteinsalda" in the morning we took the road "Fjallabaksleid nyrdri" direction north east, reached a bridge over the river "Jökulgiskvisl" after around 4 km and the parking area after one more kilometre. Now we comfortably walked about 480 m uphill, towards SSE, to reach the closer confluence area. On the way we passed a small mountain ridge which is around 15 m higher as the location of the confluence point. The good weather conditions made it possible to quickly capture the required image of the coordinates of the confluence point 64N-19E.
The landscape looked fascinating because of the mostly bright sky and the many different shades of green of the flora. Also interesting is the mixture of the living and the probably dead moss, which appears gray.
This visit was my third visit of a confluence point in Iceland. It was a very quick one under windy conditions and without any problems.
