07-Jan-2001 -- Since we had enough time of daylight left after the
visit of N48E17, we (me and my friend Günter) decided to visit the confluence at
N48E16. We had to travel about 90 km by car.
We reached the area at about 15:20, the daylight already began to fade
out. We parked the some 800m (north) away, where a small farming road left
the main road. We walked the rest of the way guided by the GPS. We had to
cross over farming areas and our shoes were packed with soil several centimeters
thick. When we finally found the spot of the confluence, we noticed several
footprints. Apparently someone had been here before us. Nonetheless we
continued with our familiar procedure of taking photos and headed back to
the car. At home at the computer I checked the confluence web site and
found that somebody else had reserved the confluence, which I didn't
check on Saturday. On Friday there were no entries for Austria. But anyway,
let's see who took the better pictures (well, I don't think we did, as it was too
late in the evening for taking good pictures).
