11-Feb-2001 -- This waypoint is located in a typical Dutch scenery, with green meadows, small ditches and knotted willows.
It's on private property of a kind farmer, who let us take the necessary pictures, but requested us to put a short
notice on the website.
Lately, as being only a tenant-farmer, he got words with the land-owner about trespassers in the past few weeks. So please don't visit this confluence any more.
First learning about the Degree Confluence Project I mailed my father, since he's profesionally interested in
GPS applications. He immediately suggested we should 'claim' a confluence point, so he came up with the 52N 6E point.
On the Dutch topo-maps this point is slightly different of the WGS84 point (big red circle on map), as the former maps were
drawn according the Bessel-system (small circle).
After asking the farmer permission to enter his land, we came close to the
confluence waypoint, and were able to pinpoint the exact location (within 70
meters).
