(visited by Alex Becker)

16-Oct-2003 -- I went to hit CP N48/E8 quite late that day. At about 5 pm I turned to get there by car. I tried to hurry up because I wanted to reach the CP by daylight. The pictures are quite dark, so I had to “lighten up” them a little bit.

Having read the reports of the former visitors, I decided to take the most direct way up. I parked my car at the side of the main street that leads through the valley, leaving the farm building to the left an crossing the meadow to hit the track at a point behind the building, because I didn´t want to cross the farm directly and to be barked off by some dogs.

The track leaded me into the small part of the forest (pict. # 5). After the entrance into the forest it got hard to have a clear satellite signal but it took only 10 minutes to hit the point.

It is about 5 meters below the forest track and you will not get a clear signal there, because of the many high firs so the closest distance on my etrex legend appeared to be 2.30 meters (pict. # 7).

As an effect of the growing darkness I had to hurry up a bit to take all my pictures.

Happy of having collected my first Confluence Point successfully, I went back to Freiburg.
