16-Oct-2004 -- When I visited my friend Frank we decided to have a look at 49°N 9°E which is located about 30 kilometers from his home. Even though it was a typical wet and cold autumnal day we headed for the confluence.

We parked our car near the edge of a forest in a parking lot near the town of Hohenhaslach. For the last few hundred meters we had to walk uphill alongside a route through the forest. The informational board was found easily and the confluence dance could be started. The reception of the GPS satellites was not very clear in the forest but after several attempts the GPS showed lots of zeroes.

We had arrived at our destination.

On our return we took a small and slippery hiking trail which led us almost directly back to the car.
