The 25S 18E confluence lies in Namaland, a large communal farming area between Keetmanshoop and Mariental.

I followed the C18 from Gochas towards Witbooisvlei and then the D1068 towards Mariental. Twenty kilometers down the road I came across an intersection. From this point onwards I had to follow tracks into this vast communal land. The local Nama people from the villages were friendly and very helpful.

About 3 kilometers from the Confluence and 6 kilometers from the nearest village I came across Jacobus Novaseb, one of the communal farmers. After I had explained to him the reason for my visit, he gave me permission to locate the Confluence but warned me that I would probably have to walk at least 2 kilometers to the Confluence because of the rocky terrain.

Failure was not an option - so out came the hiking boots, sun screen, hat, small backpack, and one liter of water.

I managed to pin point the Confluence near a dry riverbed.
