The confluence point 25S 20E is probably the last South African confluence point, although it is indicated on the Namibian map.
Koos and Outlet Brand are the owners of the Namibian farm Sophiespan bordering the Kalahari Gemsbok National Park, the South African section of the larger Kgalagadi Transfrontier National Park that reaches into Botswana. The farmhouse is situated at the D1040 and D1022 T-junction.
Koos and Outlet were unfortunately not at home when I got there but their farm manager Jakob gave me permission to drive to the Confluence. To my relief he asked two of the local youngsters from the farm, Piet Koper and David Bok, to accompany me on the last 35-kilometer stretch of thick sand tracks.
The fence and international border between Sophiespan and the National Park is electrified on the Park's side of the fence to prevent game from crossing into commercial farmland. The confluence lies 86 meters east from the fence.
