15-Aug-2006 -- These photographs of the 22°S 134°E confluence were taken on the 15th August 2006. The conference is located on the Mt Skinner Pastoral Lease where they run Hereford cattle.
I reached the confluence by foot after parking at Nifty Bore, which is only 25km by graded track from Mt Skinner Station. I managed to get a puncture on that short stretch, emphasizing the point that the tyres on the hire car that I was driving were a little too thin to contemplate bush bashing all the way to the confluence.
Nifty bore is approximately 3km south-east of the confluence, leaving a relatively easy walk through lightly wooded flat country to the site. The confluence itself is in an area of soft reworked aeolian sand with a low Spinifex groundcover, and sparse trees and bushes, mostly acacia, the remainder being beyond the scope of my botanical knowledge. Photographs taken I was back at the car a little over an hour and a half after leaving it.
