09-Dec-2016 -- I was doing some work in a location some 30 km from the confluence, and hoped I would have time in the afternoon to visit this point. It was quite a remote location so the opportunity was quite unusual.
I could drive to a spot that I thought was several km from the confluence. I parked there and wandered off in the right direction. It was mid afternoon in the north Queensland outback in summer, so I carefully forgot to take water, hat, shoes. My planning was somewhat spontaneous...
But the location itself - typical Queensland outback. Moderate tree cover, some grass, many hard red rocks, snakes, spiders, and a few kangaroos. Pretty typical. The point was three quarters up a high ridge, with pleasant views.
