26-Aug-2012 -- This is the first visit of the day on my flight from the arctic ocean back to Yellowknife.
The confluence was exactly on my course on the way home and I had overflown it many times in the past weeks.
Located between the James and the Hood River, both 20km north/south respectively it's not a very remarkable spot. It's soggy tundra, almost like muskeg which isn't all that common up here. Extremely hard to walk on and one misstep means wet feet. Since fall was around the corner the tundra started to glow in red and yellow colors, a spectacular image against a blue sky.
