#1: View to north of confluence

(visited by Alan G. McCall and John McCall)

13-Jul-2008 -- There are no tracks in the vicinity of this confluence.

We drove from Wilson Cliffs which are about 13 kilometres to the south east. They are about 70 kilometres west of the nearest track to the east. We are on our way to Well 37 on the Canning Stock Route which is about a trackless 150 kilometres to the west - We will try and visit the next confluence to the west if we can on the way.

This confluence is typical Great Sandy Desert habitat. The vegetation is spread out and is nestled amongst the span between sandridges.

Wilson Cliffs was visited and named by explorer David Carnegie when he and his party camped there 24 September 1896. He found a rockhole in the cliffs, which was dry. We also found it dry.

People attempting similar confluence visits in the desert should review the relevant risks involved in desert travelling.
