29-Oct-2017 -- Nobody had visited this point (not far from my home in the San Francisco Bay Area) since I last visited it in June 2009, so I decided to pay it another visit, in part to get a drone’s-eye view of the point. As before, I parked at the locked gate at 37.01514°N 120.99516°W, and hiked along farm tracks the rest of the way.
This point is very representative of rural California. At this time of the year, the grass-covered hills here are all brown. Within a few weeks, however, the rainy season will arrive, and the hills will turn green. To date only two of the ten visits to this point - in January and in March - have shown green grass.
