19-May-2007 -- We did leave from Macamic on Friday the 18 of May 2007 at 18h20, after traveling all evening in direction of our confluence point; we set our night camp in the van on a forest road at 23h30.

Saturday morning we got up with the sun at 5h00 it’s cold 2 degree Celsius, it’s windy and humid, time for breakfast and some preparation for the great departure, we are really happy to be there to make that confluence, it’s the second one for Sylvain (50 79 and 50 76).

Alain made his first attempt in December, wrong road and bad shape got him and Gino Sauvageau to turn back.

The second attempt with Sylvain was on the 14 of April, it was quite a day and snowmobile mechanical problem turn the team back, but this time it’s the good one.

So here we are leaving our base camp (the van) at 6h45 and we will travel a few km on a vtt.

7h15 by foot we are now leaving for the 50 76; to be there we have to walk around 7 km.

We are walking in a conifer forest on a carpet of moss quite typical of forest at this latitude in Québec, it’s so nice and we feel a great privilege to be there, and how lucky it’s too early in the season for mosquito.

After more than five hour of walking at 12h30 we got to the point, yahoo here we finally are, what a pleasure, after a good meal it’s picture time.

The return went well, even if we had to take more pause because tiredness got to us, by mid afternoon there was still no sun, it’s grey and a few snow flakes are falling, the prelude of the return home in the van with a bad road.

18h55 we finally got back to the vtt after a 14.30 km 12 hour of walk in the forest; we were proud and happy, we got home on the night of Saturday to Sunday at 2h00 am.

We can’t believe we have done all this for that 50 76 and that we are already dreaming of the next one!
