08-May-2019 -- As in the past two (Northern Hemisphere) Springs, I’m spending a few days exploring a US state that is relatively new to me. In 2017, I visited Missouri. Last year, I visited Kentucky. This Spring, I’m visiting Kansas and Nebraska. Of course, during this trip I expect to visit several Degree Confluence Points, but I expect most of them to be quite boring.
However this first point - which I reached shortly after leaving Topeka - was not quite as boring as I had anticipated. Yes, of course, it lies within a farm (a cattle farm). But rather than being completely flat, the farmland was gently rolling. The point is about 200m East of a dirt road (Sunnyside Road). The night before, a heavy rainstorm had passed through the area, leaving the ground soggy.
