05-Aug-2001 -- This point of confluence was found after the third expedition to that region by the CEBV - a group of trekkers, established in Joinville, state of Santa Catarina, southern Brazil.

Using a GPS and topographical charts, the team (Rubens Hesse, Ademir Sgrott, Janaína Piantino, Cláudio R. Hille) left Joinville on August the 4th, 2001, at 6:00a.m. and drove to the west Quiriri mountain range.

They reached the point, located 1218m above sea level, at 11:50a.m. It is located in the middle of a pinus reforestation and they had to walk 2,76 miles through irregular land and thorny woods to get there.
