02-Sep-2001 -- The best access to this confluence is from the Saskatchewan
side. You can drive to within about 1.1 km of the confluence
on what appears to be government roads. A person could get
a little closer by driving up to an abandoned farm house.
Walking over to the confluence, I happened to see a pair
of deer: a buck with a big set of antlers and a doe. Not
wanting a confrontation (it's getting close to rutting
season), I started talking to myself to let them know I
was near. They heard me, and what was just 2 deer became
a group of about 10.
Crunching through the remaining distance over the dry
pasture was uneventful. I took my series of photographs
at 51° 0' 0.0"N and 110° 0' 0.0"W and headed back to the
truck. About half way, I startled a couple of partridge
who made a big racket flying away.
