25-Aug-2024 -- During a recent cruise of the Can-Am Dinghy Cruising Association (see Facebook page for more info!). I mentioned that there was a point to be visited - near Little Current. It did not take much persuading to get all 5 boats to go along. It involved quite a long motor in calm weather from our anchorage on Badgeley Point, through the swing bridge at Little Current and on to the point, arriving just after noon.
It is not easy to get all the zeroes lined up at points on the water as boats don't want to go sideways and can drift away. The lack of wind and current/tide definitely helped! Anyway, we all had a go at lining up on the 46N and heading West to cross the point. By chance, I managed to catch the point and take the photo. I did try to repeat the success by motoring gently down the 82W. I was not far off but not perfect. All of us got close and then we rested from the sun for a while before setting off back to Heywood Island.
This is my 9th CP on the water; I have used sailing dinghies, kayak, toy canoe and water mattress up to now and then in this slightly larger sailboat.
Moving time for the day was nearly 9 hours and the distance was 29NM (54km).
