17-May-2015 -- My last confluence visit of the day (before spending the night in Bend, Oregon) was this very easy point - just 0.2 miles from Highway 197. Surprisingly, however, this point had been visited just twice before - the last time more than 8 years ago.
The confluence point lies on a grassy mound in an otherwise rock-strewn slope (reflecting the region’s volcanic history). There are also a few stunted trees nearby; it’s clear that the soil here is rather poor.
