(visited by Yi Ping Ge, Jacky, Sean, Crystal and Fengzhen)

23-Apr-2007 -- When I was planning a trip to visit my family in April 2007, 10 years after I immigrated to New Zealand, I found that there is a confluence very close to my home town Feng Hui. I made my mind to pay a visit to the spot.

I looked at the pictures taken by the previous visitors and read the narrative, I also discussed with my dad who had plenty of local knowledge. He gave me a rough idea on how to get there and I was confident that being a local myself, there would be no difficulty to find the place.

On 23rd April afternoon, our group of five including my mum Fengzhen, husband Jacky, son Sean and daughter Crystal set off from Baiguan to FengHui, equipped with a borrowed BMW from a friend and our dear GPS. We came to a village called XieTang, where my dad told me will be the place. I tried to get direction from a local store about the brick and tile factory mentioned in the previous visitors' narrative. Being local is so good and thanks to the previous visitors we immediately get the direction of the factory. Once passed the factory, we are getting really close to the spot.

We parked the car when there was no road to follow and I got off and followed the GPS and it led me to a residential house. It looked new and beautiful. I explained to the landlord about what I was doing and mentioned my dad's name. Guess what, they knew my dad very well. The trust was built and they were very helpful. The GPS led me to a bamboo forest adjacent to their backyard. With the help of the male landlord and three of his friends, I found the right spot when the GPS showed exactly the N30 and E121. It is located in a little path crossing the beautiful bamboo forest. Towards east and west are the bamboo, down the hill towards the south is a bamboo pavilion like came out of an ancient Chinese picture, upwards to the north you can see the hill in the back group. What a beautiful and nice place!

My family was waiting for me in the car all the time. They did not share my enthusiasm and the kids were playing game boys in the car. What a pity.

Came back from the trip I sank into daily routine and forgot all about submitting the visit until I found the photo today.
