08-Feb-2004 -- On our long journey back from Jordan on the "Pipeline" Highway, we decided to visit the Confluence 31N 41E since it was only 2 km west of `Ar`ar, and also it would be an ideal lunch time pit stop. Since `Ar`ar is in a strategic location, we were a bit apprehensive approaching the Confluence, anyhow, we went through the town passing the beautiful masjid until we found a good road heading west through a residential area. After a kilometre, this gave way to open fields with Bedouin camps strewn across.

We drove around the camps heading towards the Confluence, which was located on a small hill in front of a small camp. As we stopped near the hill, we saw an elderly man herding his sheep nearby, we approached him and sought his consent on taking photographs on the hill. After the successful confluence visit, we found a good Bukhāriyy restaurant and ordered the traditional kabsa, and soon we were back on the "Pipeline" Highway, contemplating how the next 900 km would be covered.
