25-Dec-2004 -- Myself, my wife and our son visited this Confluence during our December holiday. Due to the outdated maps that we had, we had a lot of problems (fun) to find our way to the Confluence. We asked permission and directions from one of the farmers. He directed us to a farmhouse on our route where we could get our next directions. To our surprise there was no one at home. We had to open at least 15 farm gates to get to about 500 meters from the Confluence. We then walked the rest of the way.
The area is mainly used for sheep farming and is extremely dry. One also sees a lot of Springbucks in the area. Due to the lack of trees in the area, the bird life is just about non-existing. In the almost 30 km that we travelled off the main road, we only saw two farmhouses. Each farmhouse had a couple of sheepdogs (Border Collies) that they use to collect and protect the sheep.
