02-Aug-2024 -- We were travelling to the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park and decided to visit this Confluence on the way. The Confluence is situated on the farm Garub 46, about 30 km south of Maltahöhe off the D804 and is owned by Broer and Hester Maritz. I had phoned about 10 days previously to ask permission so Broer was expecting us.

He is a sheep farmer and when we arrived he was busy dipping sheep. He invited us in for coffee and we then met his wife Hester. After we had explained the purpose of our visit, Broer graciously offered to drive us in his vehicle as the terrain is very stony and rough.

We set off in his vehicle accompanied by his farm worker Fabianus and three beautiful Border collies. We drove along a very bumpy road along a fence, passing some of his sheep pens along the way. When we reached the western boundary fence, we followed it for a few hundred metres in a southerly direction until we were directly opposite the Confluence, then proceeded on foot for the last 90 meters over very stony ground. The Confluence was just next to a large bush.
