04-Jan-2018 -- This is the 8th out of 11 reports reaching confluence points during our two-week trip through southern Brazil and eastern Paraguay. The story starts at 23°S 46°W and continues from 23°S 51°W. The itinerary and additional pictures can be found here.
After visiting Paraguay’s capital city Asunción, we spent the night in the town Ybycuí, which is only 3 km from this confluence point. In the early morning I visited this confluence point by running on foot from our hotel. This was an ideal way of visiting the confluence as I would do a daily run in the morning anyways.
On dirt roads I came as close as 155 m. Then I crossed a field with scattered bushes. The last 30 m had to be covered through a forest. But since the under growth wasn’t dense, it was easy to reach the confluence point. Just 15 m to the east of the confluence there is a river. On my way back, the cattle drive hat taken place such that the field had meanwhile been filled with cows. Since the running had been too short for a good exercise, I made a big deviation on the return reaching our hotel an hour later at the right time for having breakfast.
